Russia OK'd to Join WTO
GENEVA (AFP) - 12/17/11 - Russia has won approval to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO) after 18 "marathon" years of talks to gain entry to the 153-member club. 2012 Alaska State Economic Forecast
The 2012 Alaska State Economic Forecast will offer a unique opportunity to gain a statewide perspective on the prospects in 2012 for Alaska's major industries, state and federal government spending, and how this will affect communities and jobs.
This annual event will be conducted in the state's three largest cities - Fairbanks on January 17, Anchorage on January 18 and Juneau on January 19.
Greg Wolf, executive director of World Trade Center Alaska will report on Alaska's major export markets, export commodities and services, and the impact of exports on Alaska's economic well-being.
A senior economist from Northern Economics will present the statewide business review and 2012 forecast on the state's major industries, their contribution to Alaska's economy, and how they will perform in 2012.
In addition, a national and international economic update, presented by a senior economist from Wells Fargo Bank, will analyze domestic economic trends, as well as developments in markets most important to Alaska's export industries.
